Tehdassali

Gallery Tehdassali is an exhibition space located on the second floor of Vernissa, which also displays historical factory equipment from the old varnish factory. The hall has a total area of 148 m2 and a ceiling height of approximately 4 meters. Due to its unique features, the space is particularly suitable for installations, but the gallery also has movable walls for two-dimensional works. The gallery offers a beautiful view of the river.

The Vernissa Cultural Factory is a center for cultural youth work in Tikkurila, and Tehdassali is primarily aimed at young artists (max. 30 years old). Organizing an exhibition in the gallery is free of charge. Individual artists can apply with their own solo exhibition or a single work to be included in a group exhibition curated by Vernissa, as can existing groups and associations, organizations, and educational institutions aimed at young people. The exhibition period is initially one month. As a rule, the space is supervised on weekdays, but more detailed opening hours will be agreed with the artists on a case-by-case basis. Pedestals, plywood walls and various other materials are available for hanging the works.

We encourage all young artists to apply! No previous exhibition experience is required, and we offer assistance to artists organizing their first exhibition in planning and practical matters.

Open call for 2027

The call for exhibition proposals for Tehdassali in 2027 is now open until June 1! Decisions will be made and announced to applicants by the end of August.
